The Marxloh Wedding Mile

Around Weseler Straße in Marxloh you’ll find one of Germany’s densest clusters of bridal fashion and wedding supplies – many call it “the miracle of Marxloh”. Couples travel here from all over Germany and from abroad, because almost everything you need for a wedding is in one place.

Here’s an overview by sector – and where we, MINA Jeweller, come in: with gold, wedding rings and bridal jewellery.

I

Bridal & Evening Wear

The heart of the mile: bridal gowns (Gelinlik), evening and engagement dresses in countless shop windows, plus bridal shoes and accessories. Alongside the white dress, the henna dress for the Kına night matters too – often a red, gold-threaded velvet Bindallı. Many houses alter, hire out or tailor to measure. Families once travelled to Turkey for this; today everything is right here.

II

Groom & Suits

For the groom (Damat), there’s everything from the classic suit and the tuxedo to festive three- and four-piece outfits. Plus shirts, ties, cufflinks and shoes – often on the same streets as the bridal fashion and usually with an alteration service.

III

Gold Jewellery, Wedding Rings & Jewellers

Wedding rings, marriage jewellery and traditional Turkish gold (set/Takım, Bilezik) are an inseparable part of the wedding. At the Takı ceremony, gold coins (Çeyrek, Ata, Reşat) and bangles are pinned visibly on the couple – as a blessing and a financial head start into married life. Turkish bridal gold is mostly 22 carat (916). This is exactly where we are at home: we advise you on gold (585/916), wedding rings and bridal jewellery.

IV

Hair, Make-up & Cosmetics

Bridal styling, make-up and elaborate updos (Gelin Başı) are part of the big day – as is the styling for the henna night. Salons and beauty studios often offer complete packages with a trial run, nails and hair accessories.

V

Wedding Cakes & Sweets

Tiered wedding cakes and Turkish specialities such as baklava and Şekerpare for the celebration and the guests. A sweet parting gift for guests is also common; many patisseries deliver straight to the venue.

VI

Invitations & Print

Invitations and menu cards (Davetiye), place cards and printed matter – often custom-designed, frequently bilingual and with gold embossing. With large guest lists, several hundred cards are soon needed.

VII

Flowers & Decoration

Bridal bouquet, car, table and hall decoration, and floral design. Elaborate stage and seating decorations for the couple are popular, often as a festive “throne”.

VIII

Photo & Video

Wedding photographers and video studios accompany the day – from the outdoor shoot through the ceremony to the finished album and film. Drone footage and a pre-wedding shoot are often part of it.

IX

Hall, Catering & Event Service

Function halls (Düğün Salonu), catering and event services for celebrations of any size – Turkish weddings often have several hundred to over a thousand guests. Add music (live or DJ), technical equipment and staff; many halls offer complete packages.

X

Wedding Car & Decor

The decorated wedding car (Gelin Arabası) brings the couple to the celebration in style – from a ribbon-trimmed car to a luxury limousine. Providers hire out vehicles with a driver and matching floral decoration, often in a wedding convoy.

Your Gold & Jewellery for the Wedding

While the mile offers everything around the celebration, we are here for the golden part: wedding rings, Turkish bridal jewellery and gold gifts for the engagement and wedding. We advise you at your ease – right in the middle of Marxloh on August-Bebel-Platz.
