Gold coins

Turkish gold coins and investment coins – a traditional gift for festivals and an investment at the same time. We explain the individual coin types in detail in our guide.

Our range

Common Turkish denominations (Çeyrek, Yarım, Tam), Ata and Ziynet forms and modern gram gold coins are available. An ideal gift for weddings, engagements and Bayram.

Buy-back & authenticity check

We buy gold coins at daily prices and test authenticity and fineness without damage using the Helmut Fischer GOLDSCOPE SD. Personal advice on site.

Types and weights

Turkish gold coins are distinguished by size: Çeyrek (quarter), Yarım (half), Tam (full) and larger pieces. In the common Ziynet minting, a Çeyrek weighs around 1.75 grams, a Yarım about 3.51 and a Tam about 7.02 grams. Ata and Reşat coins are slightly heavier, a Çeyrek around 1.80 grams. Fineness is usually 916 (22 carat). Details in our guide to gold coins.

Authenticity, packaging and receipt

Buy coins only with a receipt and check that the packaging is intact. We test every piece non-destructively by X-ray fluorescence and weigh it in front of you. For the takı ceremony, coins come ready with ribbon and pin. Keep the capsule, blister and invoice – it makes any later sale easier.

Gift, custom and holding gold

Coins are the customary gift at weddings, births, circumcision celebrations and Bayram. They are also a common way of holding gold in small units: many small pieces can be given individually, while larger ones carry a lower premium per gram. For the sober comparison see bars or coins; for zakat, our calculator helps.
