Jewellery repair: process, time and cost

From an open chain link to a new ring size: most repairs are quicker and more affordable than expected. This is how it works with us – with a fixed price before we start.

Common jobs

Ring resizing, soldering chains and loops, replacing clasps and earring posts, resetting loose stones, polishing, rhodium-plating white gold, restringing pearls – our daily classics.

What the price depends on

Material and alloy, the labour involved, existing stone settings and the condition of the piece are decisive. A plain yellow-gold chain is soldered faster than a delicate heirloom with sensitive stones.

How it works

You bring the piece in, we inspect it together and quote a binding price in advance. Many jobs are ready within a few days; urgent work is discussed openly and honestly.

When a repair is not worth it

If the cost exceeds the value or meaning of the piece, we say so clearly. Often a redesign or selling at material value is the better solution – both under one roof with us.

We only quote prices after seeing the piece – but then binding and without surprises.
