The takı ceremony is the moment when guests pin gold and money onto the bridal couple – as a blessing and a start into married life. A short guide for guests and couples.
What happens at the ceremony
After the dancing, guests come up individually or as families, congratulate the couple and pin gold coins, bangles or banknotes onto ribbons and clothing. Who gives what is often announced – festive in some families, relaxed in others.
Who traditionally gives what
Close family traditionally gives bigger: a bilezik, a set or a Tam Altın. Relatives often choose Yarım or Çeyrek; friends and colleagues Çeyrek, gram gold or money. This is guidance, not obligation – region and family matter more than any rule.
Practical tips for guests
Buy the coin in good time before the celebration and pay attention to authenticity and a receipt. With us, takı coins come ready with ribbon and pin – ready to present.
Tips for the couple
Have someone you trust keep a list, and store the gifts safely after the celebration. We are happy to check bridal gold free of charge and exchange denominations on request – for example many Çeyrek into larger coins.
Traditions differ by region and family – our notes are a friendly orientation, not a rulebook.
