Gifts are given at both Bayram festivals, especially to children and within the family. Gold coins are the most common form – small, holding their value and with no question of size.
Gold coins as a Bayram gift
The Çeyrek is the usual size for children and younger relatives; Yarım and Tam are given within the closer family. On request you receive the coins ready with a ribbon. Which types exist and what they weigh is set out in our guide to gold coins.
For adults
Bangles, chains or a set are also given at the festival, for example to a mother-in-law or for an engagement, which is often placed in the Bayram days. If you need several pieces, let us know in advance and we will put matching ones together.
Zakat before the festival
